billydenk This recording displays its inspirations vividly, yet is filled with originality in composition, performance and improvisation. One discovers new layers of sound...and thought...upon each listen. Favorite track: he talked with the spirits (for rahsaan roland kirk).

Harvey Founding Shadowfax member Stinson does a superb job in paying homage to some of the greats of the Free Jazz era. If you love this style of Jazz, then this is for you. Fantastic stuff.
John Cratchley

John Cratchley I found this album whilst searching for music by Derek Bailey...don't you just rejoice at where BC can take you?
This is very, very special...an homage but also a very personal and esoteric musical offering...g.e. says it is "one of a kind" and, therefore, more of a blessing for its rarity,I think...
There is not an idea, not a construct, not a note or phrase that doesn't feel both absolutely right or necessary...
Some music (and it is rare) is immediate in its effect,I find, and this album just lodged itself in my psyche instantaneously...
You can hear some of his guitar playing with both Nels and Alex Cline (on Cryptogramophone) but I think if you don't already know his work, you need to check g.e.out as soon as you can!

Favorite track: the doctor is out (for lester bowie).
Steve Smith

Steve Smith GE Stinson, a founding member of seminal New Age/fusion ensemble Shadowfax who moved onward to all manner of rich, gripping projects, honors his outward-bound forebears on this amazing one-man show, achieved with deft use of digital magic. Favorite track: the doctor is out (for lester bowie).
