an homage to the brilliant poet and musical collaborator, dorothea grossman
lyrics
behind the sun where shadows sing
syllables stab like shards of light
obtuse phrases tersely told
the only truth that we can know
only this, only this
and laughter turns to tears

I really appreciate that with such a large group of musicians the overall sound and experience of listening is really spacious, never cluttered. The lovely recording helps that a lot, and of course the compositional aspects that make it breathe are superb- it gets more and more fun as I listen again and again. Jasper Skydecker

Something of a meditative flow that feels more important than whatever he is playing at a given moment. Occasional monolithic phrases and delicate shaping of feedback sculpt time. errantzephyr
